PICADOR

From Susan Rodgers come two welded steel sculptures, abstract but with figurative themes. “Sobek” rises from a linear base through a kind of knobby vertebrae, to an angular ‘head’. “Picador” captures the essential lines of a rider on a spirited horse, sword thrust upward at an angle. The Negative spaces become as important as the “drawings” made by Rodgers in steel.
